High Strength
Age hardening develops high tensile and yield strength for demanding engineered components. The required heat-treatment condition should match the material specification.
Nickel–Chromium Alloy · Age-Hardenable · UNS N07718
INCONEL® alloy 718 is an age-hardenable nickel-chromium alloy known for high strength, fatigue resistance and useful corrosion resistance. It combines tensile, fatigue, creep and rupture strength with good fabricability, including for complex components. Properties depend on product form, heat-treatment route and the governing specification.
UNS N07718 / W. Nr. 2.4668
Age hardening develops high tensile and yield strength for demanding engineered components. The required heat-treatment condition should match the material specification.
The alloy is used where fatigue resistance, creep strength and rupture performance are important design considerations.
INCONEL® 718 provides useful corrosion resistance in a range of environments, subject to the actual service medium and conditions.
The alloy can be fabricated into complex forms and is noted for good welding characteristics, including resistance to post-weld cracking.
