INCOLOY® Alloy 825

Nickel–Iron–Chromium Alloy · Molybdenum, Copper and Titanium Additions

INCOLOY® alloy 825 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with molybdenum, copper and titanium additions. It is used where resistance to a range of reducing and oxidizing environments is important, including selected acid-processing, oil-and-gas and seawater-related applications. Actual performance depends on the process chemistry and operating conditions.

Key Performance Characteristics

UNS N08825 / W. Nr. 2.4858

01

Reducing & Oxidizing Environments

The alloy combines nickel, chromium, molybdenum and copper to support resistance in a range of chemical environments.

02

Localized Corrosion Resistance

Molybdenum contributes to resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.

03

Stabilized Alloy Design

Titanium, with appropriate heat treatment, helps stabilize the alloy against sensitization to intergranular corrosion.

04

Mechanical Performance

Good mechanical properties are available across cryogenic to moderately high temperatures; cold work can substantially increase strength.

Typical Application Areas

Chemical Processing

Selected process equipment and systems exposed to acids and corrosive solutions.

Oil & Gas Recovery

Selected equipment used in sour-gas and oilfield environments, subject to service review.

Acid Production & Pickling

Selected acid-production and pickling equipment.

Marine & Pollution Control

Selected seawater-related and pollution-control applications.
